Piazza Santa Croce, Florence

  • Sleeps 2+1 in 1 bedroom/2 bathrooms 1,076 sq. ft air-conditioned, with terrace, frescoes in an elevator building
  • This lovely apartment is located on the piano nobile (noble floor) of an ancient 16th-century palazzo just behind beautiful Piazza Santa Croce. The apartment has been completely and beautifully restored; its central location puts many of Florence’s attractions right at your doorstep, as well as coffee bars, restaurants, and shops.
  • There is a grocery store just 200 meters from the apartment. Santa Croce square is just a one-minute walk, and the Uffizi Gallery is just ten minutes away. The owner, a well-known photographer and writer, has personally furnished and decorated this unique apartment with an interesting blend of tradition, taste, and high-tech design, along with a few hints from the recent past of the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. These diverse styles come together to give the apartment a relaxing, comfortable ambience.
  • The Santa Croce Apartment is located on the second floor of an elevator building. Its impressive entrance is decorated with brightly-colored 18th-century frescoes on its walls and high ceilings.
  • An archway leads to a modern living room, with white couches, a marble fireplace, and a dining area with a table for four. A small hallway leads to a studio, completely adorned with frescoes, high-speed Internet access, telephone/fax, and stereo.
  • A sofa converts to a single bed to sleep an additional guest. Next to the studio is a bathroom with shower. The kitchen is bright and spacious, with a dishwasher, microwave, American coffee maker, and a door opening onto a lovely terrace just perfect for al fresco dining in the summer.
  • The owner’s eye for the aesthetic is perhaps most obvious in the beautiful wood-paneled double bedroom. A queen-sized bed is a crossover between a traditional wooden bed and a modern platform bed. There is an en suite bath with sink and tub, and a separate WC. The apartment also has a washing machine for laundry.
  • The architecture of the surrounding buildings, with their tiny private courtyards, gives the Santa Croce Apartment a cozy, secluded feeling, in spite of being located in the heart of Florence.
  • The Santa Croce Apartment has a brand new, modern air-conditioning system. Because of the historc frescoes, the owners are not permitted to install central air-conditioning; but “splits” located in the living room and kitchen cool the entire apartment.

Toscana - Tuscany

Tuscany is the place we all dream of….The place we want to retire to, and it is that place that will echo in your heart for a life time once you have stayed there and felt the essence of the organic life that passes by there each day.

With fields of sunflowers as far as they eye can see, olive groves and vineyards lining every street corner make Tuscany’s country side a picture worth painting. With its abundance of  tiny medieval towns scattered around the hills, open air markets where locals gather each Saturday morning to offer their produce such as Truffle oil, olives, chianti wine, cured meats etc makes Tuscany the perfect place to visit for those that love food, wine and history.
