AVENTINO HILL HOUSE
Historic Rome, on the Aventine Hill
Sleeps 8+2 in 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a patio, partial air-conditioning and Wifi
The Aventine Hill is one of the most desirable residential areas of Rome. It is one of the original seven hills and is very well connected to all the major historical sites of Rome and in close proximity to some of Rome's top restaurants. From here, it is just a five-minute walk to the grocery store, bakery, cafe, restaurant or bus stop. Ten minutes' walk brings you to the Pyramide Metro stop or to the Ostiense rail station. The house is located in a lovely quiet (for Rome) area across from a park and comes with parking for one car.
The house is particularly nice for families because of the attractive and usable outdoor space. There is a spacious patio and the property is surrounded by a fence with gate. It is the best of both worlds, in the sense that it is very close to the center but still has the peace and greenery so nice for families with children.
Aventino Hill House has five bedrooms all on one floor and one of the most interesting and harmonious interiors of any of our Rome accommodations. It is really extraordinary. The owner is a collector and importer of fascinating antique and modern furnishings from all over the world. The apartment walls are lined with five-hundred year old bricks imported from the Far East. Painted pieces from Tibet, original artwork, beautiful tables and chairs are beautifully placed and are comfortable as well as beautiful. Guests will enjoy the furnishings so much, they will likely want to visit the owner’s equally upscale and interesting store in the Jewish Ghetto area of ancient Rome.
The interior house space is 200 sq meters (2000+ sq ft) plus a small guest cottage across the terrace of 17 sq meters (170+ sq ft) and the terrace is 100 sq meters (1000+ sq ft) with an impressive table made from one huge piece of wood and an marvelous bench from a single piece of wood. A mature wisteria vine covers the table, making a natural pergola. Since most rooms open onto the terrace, both the house and guest house are sunny and inviting.
