Cinque Terre - Vermentino, Liguria - Italian Villa Vacations

Vermentino and Pigato (2 seperate apartments) are located in one of Cinque Terres charming hilltop villages - Built over a thousand years ago, the village has tiny narrow streets, and cars must be left outside. Two cars can be parked in the private space in the square (50 meters from the house). There are many surrounding seaside locations such as Portofino, Lerici, Tellaro, Fiascherino (that has a very exclusive beach). Versilia (the Tuscan Riviera) and Carrara (where there are marble caves) are VERY close as well. There are many day trips that can be taken from this medieval borgo. A week is almost not enough time to see everything. A day trip to Lucca and Florence is even close.

The village

Lavaggiorosso - 281 meters

It is one of the valley's most antique villages, it has been constructed behind a mountain in order to be protected against pirates. The church goes back to 1600, and  most of the houses are also of the same period. The local products are olives, salted anchovies, wine and oil.

In Lavaggiorosso you can find the antique inn "Zita", a simple restaurant on the top of the valley managed by a very nice family who is able to combine kindness with more than favorable prices.

VERMENTINO (sleeps 8 / 10 people )

Is large accommodation developing over two floors with four double bedrooms, two bathrooms with showers, two living rooms and a modern kitchen with wood a burning oven. There are two large terraces with great views. It has been tastefully furnished and the house provides privacy and style.

Entering into the front door after three steps you are in the sitting room with a french door leading to a nice terrace. On the same floor there are two large double bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, and a studio with an other balcony offering a view towards the valley.

On the top floor there is a kitchen (electric oven, washing machine( no dishwasher) with view of the old church, another living room (with fireplace ) that gives access to a large panoramic terrace for al fresco dining, two double bedrooms (one of them with a nice ancient crib, and a bathroom with shower .

Location

Within 10 minutes you can drive from this pretty hillside village into the center of Levanto, and within 30 min in either direction are Portofino and La Spezia .

The entrance to the A12 is Carrodano. It links to Genova in 30 minutes, the Tuscan border in slightly over an hour.
