This charming apartment with an independent entrance is completely on the water front. It sleeps up to 4 in one lofted double bedroom plus another small room with 2 single beds. On the ground floor there is also the living room with a dining area, a small kitchen and a bathroom. From the window you can admire the beautiful view of Lake Garda and the little beach. It is situated near the characteristic and quiet Porticciolo (little harbour) of Toscolano. Within a 2 minute walk you can reach the small beach of the Porticciolo. Within 10 minutes by car you reach the Toscolano Maderno beach which offers you swimming, windsurfing and sailing.

This property is located just at few kilometres from the historical centre of Toscolano Maderno, one of the most popular holidays resort on Lake Garda. With its clear, clean and warm water, sunny beaches, mild climate and Mediterranean vegetation, Lake Garda is like a small sea set between the last spurs of the Alps and the Lombardy plain. Garda has been a favoured spot since Roman times and has been lauded by poets and writers through the ages, for example, Catullus, Goethe, Joyce and D'Annunzio. It unites its natural beauty with the traces of its history, from Roman remains to Liberty.

There are many interesting little towns situated along the coast or up the hills, - Salò (8 km) and Gardone Riviera (4 km), the beautiful Sirmione (37 km) - rich of history, culture, good restaurants and shops.

From the house it is possible to walk to the village (500 m) where bars, Tabacchi shops, and the delicious Trattoria San Carlo are located. A larger shopping centre with pharmacy, groceries, post office and bank is at less than 1 km. The nearest train station is in Desenzano del Garda (27 Km)

La Legnaia benefits of a quiet location since the road leading to the house is used only by other people living in the area or people going to the Porticciolo - a little public harbour very close to the house.

In the past this small independent house used to be the wood – shed of the main palazzo, the Palazzo sul Garda. Please note that the two properties are totally separated. They have different entrances and different outdoor area.

From the narrow street a wrought – iron gate opens onto a private court yard. Please note that the entrance and the court yard are shared with another three apartments located in the adjacent building.

At the end of the court there is the access to the lake. In front of the door of the house there is a private area with table and chairs. Parking lots are available on the street plus there is one car park available in the courtyard for the guest of La Legnaia.

Description

The house was built in the 18th century. Few years ago the owner restored it and converted into a small house for 2+2 people.

It consists of a living/dining room with a table for 4 and fireplace. There is a large sunny window with view of the Lake and the little beach.

On this floor there is also a small, but well equipped kitchen and a bathroom with bathtub. The kitchen is equipped with gas range (4 elements) oven, toaster, fridge and microwave. There is dishwasher and washing machine for clothes. There is a TV, and screens on the windows are provided.

A stair case (about 16 steps) leads to the lofted double bedroom (queen size room). Please note that this room has no privacy because overlooks the living area. On this level there is also a small bedroom with 2 single beds. Due to its size this room is suitable only for children. The living room has air conditioning.

From Windsurfing to sailing, from golf to rock-climbing, from bungee-jumping to trekking: on Lake Garda you can find facilities for almost any sort of sport and activity you can think of. Either alone or with a guide/instructor and for any level from beginner to expert: there is as much choice as anyone could wish for. Sun, clear and clean water, not crowded beaches and sports facilities of all types (from swimming-pools to tennis courts). The Lake Garda is just the place for relaxing but active holidays.

Circolo Golf Bogliaco in Toscolano Maderno - 3 km

This is the oldest golf course around the lake dating from 1912. The course has 9 holes (plus a practice area) and is based in a hollow 100 m above the lake. Surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation it offers a splendid vista of the lake.

Gardagolf Country club in Soiano del Garda - 21 km. This is a 27 hole course (110 hectares) in the hills of Valtenesi. It too has fine views across the lake from various points.
