Villa Stella is the perfect base for your holiday on the lake.

Although accessed by the busy coastal road of Lake Maggiore, this nice property provides a peaceful and relaxing holiday right on the shore of the lake.

The villa is situated just few minutes walk from shops and restaurants. It sleeps 6+1.

Casa Stella is a lovely private home enjoying privacy, quietness and a lakefront setting. It is an excellent choice for guests who want to be able to walk to a village. The house is located in the center of Meina a few meters from a very good restaurant, gourmet food shop, pharmacy, post office and some small village shops. Casa Stella is a fully appointed accommodation sleeping 6 persons in 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a spacious living room, a large kitchen and patio. Each rooms is provided with a fan. The master and twin bedrooms have mosquito screens. The garden has a private lake access.
Please take note: As with all in-town houses, the sound of people and traffic could be heard. The lake road is located behind the rental, once inside the beautiful garden that ends in the lake, you will not feel to be in a noisy place. Only one room (the one with the sofabed) having windows towards the road could be noisy. While the master bedroom, the twin bedroom and the living room face the private garden and the lake.
The villa is on two floors therefore is not suitable to guests with walking difficulties.
Ground floor
The ground floor houses a large living room with comfortable period furnishing fireplace (not working), CD and DVD player, TV SAT, and direct access to the patio, a spacious fully equipped eat-in-kitchen (electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, dryer) a large patio with BBQ. A small bathroom with WC and slipper tub with shower.
First floor
21 steps: there is a master bedroom (bed 170x190) with lake view, a twin bedded room (beds 85x190) with lake view and ensuite small bathroom with shower (6 steps). The master bedroom and the twin bedded room have mosquito screens. A third bedroom with double and very comfortable sofabed + extra folding bed (available on request), large bathroom with tub + separated shower. This is the only bedroom facing the road.
Outside Fenced garden, patio for "al fresco" dining with BBQ. Direct access to the lake.
Notes:
There is no private parking, a public parking is located few meters from the villa. This villa sleeps 6 pax; the sofa bed sleeps 2 pax. A 7th person can sleep in a folding out bed, but this is available only upon request and agreement with the owner. The use of this bed will be charged.

The area
Lago Maggiore is a magical glacial lake anchoring the mountains which step up into the Italian Alps. This is the heart of the 'Lakes District' of Italy, an area with a noted northern influence with plenty of small villages to explore and more than enough stunning scenery to fill a vacation.
There is excellent hiking in the Val Grande, and equally excellent golfing with 2 golf courses in the nearby ( 10 minutes driving ) and more than 7 within 40 minutes driving.  In season mushrooms and chestnuts can be found in the woods near Gignese.
Tours in the area include Stresa, the Borromeo Islands, Brissago Islands, Arona, Villa Taranto (botanical gardens), and the Cannero Riviera. A 10-minute drive brings you to the ferry launches at Arona. While the romantic Lake Orta with Isola S.Giulio is only at a 15 min drive.
In Stresa (a 10 minutes drive) in its wonderful setting the Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées offers Beauty, Fitness and Antistress programs featuring all the most modern equipments. Many fabulous restaurants are located in the area as well as cafés and shops.
Tennis court and olimpionic swimming pool are at a 5 min drive.
Water sports as sailing, windsurfing, waterski are available in Stresa, Belgirate and Lesa.
Milan's Malpensa airport is 27 miles away.
The region around lake Maggiore is rich of religious monuments of every style and age. The numerous buildings dating to the Romanesque  period  testify the importance of this area during the Middle Age. The most important churches in the area preserve antique frescoes and paintings.
The statue of S.Carlo Borromeo (uphill Arona), populary named Sancarlone because of its 23.4 meters of hight, is the second hightest in the world after the Statue of Liberty in New York.
While the Sacred Mount of Ghiffa with its splendid religious  edifices immersed in a panoramic position overlooking the  Lombard shore of the lake offers the opportunity to enjoy a tranquil nature hiking.
