La Novellina is a wonderfully renovated farmhouse which central structure is a tower of the 11th century. The villa is located just between Florence and Siena overlooking the tuscan hills.

Elegantly furnished La Novellina has a large garden with a pool and provides every possible modern convenience. Sleeps nine adults in 5 air conditioned bedrooms and four bathrooms + 1 wc. House keeping 2 hours per day.

Description

This beautiful, spacious farmhouse is set in a wonderful quiet position half way between Florence and Siena in the heart of the Chianti district, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees in a landscape modeled by centuries of farmers' patient toil. The views encompass the Castle of Santa Maria Novella and stretch as far as the towers of San Gimignano across the rolling countryside.

The house is set on three floors and sleeps up to nine people. It is spacious (3,250 sf) with five air conditioned bedrooms each with a large closet; four bathrooms + 1 wc; a large sitting room with fireplace, two small halls and a big eat-in kitchen with a wood burning oven. It is furnished with original antiques. Two loggias, garden with lawn furniture, BBQ and a round swimming pool. Dishwasher washing machine, clothes dryer, large refrigerator with freezer and ice maker, Air Conditioning in the bedrooms, HI-FI, Satellite TV. Mosquito Screens. Telephone only for local calls, Internet Connection, Mobile cell phone for long distance calls.

The ground floor consists of a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom( with a tub) and there are three steps to access the bedroom. There is a TV room , kitchen, loggia, WC.

The first floor consists of another double bedroom with wardrobe and ensuite bathroom (tub and separate shower), a twin bedded room, a single bedroom, a bathroom (shower), a large living room with firplace and access to the loggia.

The upper floor consists of a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower.

PLEASE NOTE THAT:

Although totally restored La Novellina maintains its ancient structure.

The kitchen, the TV room and the yellow bedroom, although on the ground floor, are not on the same level. Guests with walking difficulties have to know that although they can access the yellow bedroom and the kitchen from the exterior (avoiding the internal steps ), the rest of the floor has short flights of stairs throughout. To access the top floor bedroom, the roof is 20 cm lower than usual so watch your head going up to this bedroom!!

The beds in the twin bedroom cannot be joined: they sit against opposite walls with a doorway in between.

The central structure of La Novellina is a tower of the 11th century; the wings were added later. This typical Tuscan house has been completely restored, taking care to respect its original form. The old structure has been consolidated and when possible, the original materials re-used. Our rental is now part of a farm of 69 acres, specialized in the production of extra virgin olive oil..

The weekly price includes linen, professional pool cleaning twice a week, gardener twice a week and house cleaning 2 hours per day 6 days per week. Bed linen and bath linen are changed weekly . Extra maid service can be provided on an hourly basis at 10 EUR ($10) per hour and an extra bed can be provided.
