Villa Vallegiulia is a fine and richly decorated XVIII century villa, set in peaceful grounds amongst the hills near Lucca. There are eight guest rooms and six bathrooms. Outside, the formal garden (1 ha/2,50 ac.), has many areas to relax under the shade. It also has a swimming pool.

All the bedrooms are air-conditioned and surrounded by13 ha. (32ac) of land. It has a vineyard and olive groves owned by the family.

Exterior Description

This property is an elegant 18th century Lucchese villa with its own Chapel, vineyards and olive groves. The villa in 1708 has been home of the Count Cesare Sardi and in 2003 has been beautifully restored by the actual owner, his direct descendant. Outdoor amenities include an Italian style garden filled with trees, aromatic plants and roses offering an ideal background to the large swimming pool. There are comfortable deck chairs, lounges, and a barbecue. Villa Vallegiulia, as a part of the wine estate and has a nice view overlooking, vineyards olives groves and farmer's houses. In the Chapel, located just outside the property, there is the mass every Sunday at 9.00 am.

Lucca is 7 km away. Florence 70 km, Pisa 20 km, the Versilia beaches are 30 km away while the Cinque Terre can be reached in one and a half hours. Tennis facilities (5 minutes) and a lake (fishing) is a 15 minutes walk. There is a Golf course (18 holes) in Montecatini or Versilia, both 30 minutes away. The house manager, who lives on the estate, provides a daily cleaning service, six days per week and daily breakfast. There is a gardener who tends to the grounds and the swimming pool. Although not included, the services of a chef are available for lunch or dinner. Laundry service is also available for an extra charge.

Interior Description

Built in the middle of the 17th century, Villa Vallegiulia (500 sqm) is an excellent example of historic architecture in Lucca. In classic style, it features three floors sleeping up to 14 people.

The villa can be rented excluding the two double bedrooms on the ground floor, for a group of 10 people.

Ground floor

Ground floor (sleeping 4 people): Main entrance hall with staircase leading to the first floor. A second door leads to large and bright living-room with access to the beautiful garden; fully equipped kitchen; frescoed dining room with marble fireplace and access to the garden; TV lounge with satellite TV. A large air conditioned double bedroom with a beautiful beamed ceiling and "Lucchese" tapestry. A twin AC bedroom - modern marble bathroom with tub.

This floor features an independent alarm system, Internet connection in each room, TV sat, telephone, modern centralized vacuum cleaning system.

First and top floor

First floor (sleeping 4 people): this floor includes the former "salone centrale " of the piano nobile: a spacious and elegant formal living room with comfortable sofas and TV sat, the beautiful yellow walls are decorated with the portraits of the ancestors of the family. In this same floor there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin each with en suite marble bathroom (one with tub and the other with shower), a formal dining room with a small balcony and fully equipped kitchen.

Top floor (sleeping 6 people): there are four bedrooms (one double, one twin and two single bedrooms each with queen size beds (120cm). Three bathrooms (one with tub and two with showers). This floor has beamed ceiling and "cotto toscano" floor.

These two floors feature an independent alarm system, Internet connection in each room, TV sat, telephone, modern centralised vacuum cleaning system in each room. The top floor is fully air conditioned.

Villa Vallegiulia has been totally restored paying attention to provide both luxury and comforts; its elegant interiors are decorated with exquisite period furnishings and is provided with modern conveniences including satellite TV, Internet connection, a stereo CD player and a security alarm.

The villa is partially air-conditioned and centrally heated.

The ground floor apartment has its own entrance from the rear of the house. When the villa is rented for 10 pax the owner/staff could stay in the ground floor apartment. This does not affect the privacy of our guests and we guarantee that the garden and pool ground are at the EXCLUSIVE USE OF THE GUESTS.
