OVERVIEW

Villa Le Rose is a prestigious property steeped in history and nature. It is in a fabulous location surrounded by vineyards and olive groves just a few kilometers from Florence, where the scent of flowers and the beautiful swimming pool surrounded by greenery are the setting for our luxurious historical residence.

Villa Le Rose is an elegant Renaissance Villa surrounded by vineyards and olive groves; a jewel of rare beauty set in the Tuscan countryside just ten minutes from the center of Florence. A picturesque avenue flanked by cypress trees will lead you to the entrance of this beautiful Luxury Villa on the hills of Florence, where you will experience unforgettable feelings.
The Villa measures 1000 square meters and can accommodate up to fourteen guests in seven bedrooms. The dwelling overlooks 2 large gardens for a total of 1,200 square meters of greenery. The property is entirely surrounded by an eleven-hectare park where you can also find a small private lake.
Originally commissioned by the Marquis Niccolò Antinori in the fifteenth century, the Villa has undergone numerous improvements and renovations over the years, without ever losing its renaissance structure that distinguishes it from any other property in its category, making it truly unique.
The layout of Villa Le Rose is in fact typical of the aristocratic Renaissance villas, centered around a paved courtyard, surrounded by gardens and situated in an agricultural landscape.

GROUND FLOOR

The Loggia
The Loggia plays a central role to the villa’s layout, bridging the walled courtyard outside with the internal living quarters. The courtyard features terracotta vases and jasmine climbers. The Loggia houses two seating areas and a Madonna and Child ceramic plaque from the Renaissance school of della Robbia.
The entrance hall welcomes guests with adorned mirrors, a Seventeenth Century oil painting of a hunting scene, and a Sixteenth Century wooden table bearing a collection of bronze coursing dogs.
The Ballroom, also known as the Salone delle Feste, is one of the oldest rooms in the villa. However, doubt is cast over its exact date. Although records indicate that it was frescoed in 1629, art historians confirm that the pale green used, a color favored by the Hapsburg House of Lorraine, was not common in Florence until after 1700.
The Ballroom features a minstrel’s gallery for performing musicians, and a Steinway grand piano which was played by the Russian virtuoso Anton Rubinstein at a private concert in 1961.
The Ballroom measures 135 square meters and can comfortably accommodate 110 seated guests.
The Blue Living room was originally a bedroom in the Sixteenth Century when the villa belonged to the Antinori family. Today it serves as an informal living room. It was frescoed around 1780, on the cusp of Romanticism, with picturesque landscapes and classical ruins as was common for the period.

The Sitting Room

Facing the Cedar Garden, this small sitting room was entirely frescoed with grotesque motifs in the Nineteenth Century. A curious feature of the room are two small portraits (see p.7) of the villa’s past owners, most likely the Boissevain, which were added in the middle of the last century.
The Studio was decorated at the same time as the blue living room. It features frescoes in a monochromatic neoclassical style with a trompe-l’oeil effect that mimics a bas-relief. The frescoes are framed in elaborate stucco reliefs. Villa le Rose and the Florence Charterhouse, just minutes away from the villa, are the only two historic buildings in Florence to house this style of fresco painting.
The Dining Room accommodates up to twenty seated guests. A large, five-tiered crystal chandelier with tear-drop and prismatic pendants hangs in the center of the room. Around 1700 the dining room was frescoed with the myth of Diana and Actaeon.
The Baldacchino Suite is the only remaining bedroom on the ground floor as originally planned by Niccolò Antinori in the Sixteenth Century. The walls are decorated with frescoes depicting Old Testament scenes. Research has dated the work to 1730.
The Baldacchino bathroom is frescoed with grotesque motifs from floor to ceiling and finished with a rare marble noted for its unusually wide veining. The bathroom is composed of two rooms. The first features a bath with antique crystal fittings, a handbasin and a fireplace. The second room, which is also entirely frescoed, houses the shower.

BASEMENT
The Kitchen
The open-plan kitchen is spacious and bright, and features a traditional Tuscan fireplace and bread oven. It offers all modern amenities, including a dishwasher and plenty of food storage space.
The whole lower floor maintains its original Fifteenth Century appearance, complete with barrel and cross vaulting.
FIRST FLOOR
Sleeps 6 people in 6 double bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
The Roses Bedroom
This was one of the first bedrooms created on the first floor during restructuring work in the Nineteenth Century. Favored for its prime position, it overlooks the central courtyard on one side and the surrounding countryside on the other. It comprises adjacent twin beds and a spacious seating area.
The Roses Bedroom has its own private marble bathroom, which includes a sink, a shower, a bath, a bidet and a toilet.
The Green Bedroom is the largest suite in the villa. It owes its name to the green Eighteenth Century furniture in the hallway preceding it. A hidden passageway for staff leads to a service hallway and stairs to the ground floor. The bedroom features a double bed, a sitting area with a working fireplace and a sizeable wardrobe.
The Green bedroom has its own private marble bathroom, which includes a sink, a shower, a bath, a bidet and a toilet.
The Oriental Bedroom owes its name to the frescoed walls depicting Chinese figures. It is the smallest bedroom but commands a central view of the villa’s park and lake beyond. Fallow deer, hares and other wildlife can be spotted roaming the estate. The bedroom features a four-poster double bed canopied in Nineteenth Century Tuscan silk and a sitting area with a working fireplace.
The Oriental Bedroom has its own private marble bathroom, which includes a sink, a shower, a bath, a bidet and a toilet.
The Pink Bedroom is one of the more modern rooms in the villa, decorated with classic furniture and wood flooring. It is a spacious corner bedroom comprised of two single beds that can be joined together to make a double bed. An oversize sofa-bed may, if needed, accommodate a third guest.
The Pink Bedroom has its own private marble bathroom, which includes a sink, a shower, a bath, a bidet and a toilet.
The Guest Suite is furnished in a modern style. Its corner position commands a view of the cypress
tree-lined driveway that leads to the villa. The suite comprises a double bed, a study area and a wardrobe closet.

The Staff Bedroom is a double room for visiting staff. It is equipped with a kitchenette and its own bathroom. This bedroom may be used by the villa’s guests if required.

GARDEN AND POOL GROUND

Villa Le Rose is surrounded by two gardens which measure 1200 square meters combined.
On one side of the property lies the swimming pool’s Porcinai Garden, named after the landscape and garden designer Pietro Porcinai. The villa’s swimming pool sits in the middle of the north eastern Porcinai Garden.
It was built in 1960 where the round corral previously stood. Built in the shape of an oval, the swimming pool measures 18 meters in length and 9 meters in width, and is just short of 3 meters in depth.
On the other side of the villa lies the Cedar Garden, named after the 300-year-old Lebanon cedar that features prominently over it. A tall hedgerow encloses the Cedar Garden’s English style lawn, the roses, potted plants and an al fresco seating area.

The medieval town of Siena is built across several hills and valleys; that's why you will find yourself walking up and down through its historical center. The lack of car traffic makes Siena a wonderful place to stroll, especially with kids! Despite sometimes being packed with tourists, the city always has a quiet and easygoing feel. A must-see is the shell-shaped square called Il Campo. This is the focal point of the city and the perfect setting to snap your Instagram photos while enjoying an over-sized gelato. This is also the venue of the internationally renowned horse race, The Palio, which takes place on July 2nd and again on August 16th each year.
Visit San Gimignano, famous for its skyline, and Volterra, renown for alabaster artifacts. The small fortress cities within easy driving distance of one another, each offer their own special appeal. The medieval walled city of Monteriggioni – for example – was built in the 13th century and it is known to be one of the most well preserved ancient fortifications in Italy, which is why it is a preferred destination for plenty of tourists, scholars, architects and archeologists from all over Europe.

            [post_content] => This villa is located in the heart of Tuscany, between Florence and Siena, in a panoramic area overlooking the Florentine countryside. The villa has 6 bedrooms with private bathrooms and an additional bathroom accessible from the large living area. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped, and there are outdoor living and dining areas. The villa also has a private parking area within an electric gate, mosquito nets, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. The entire property is exclusively available to your group, and there is a private 12x5m swimming pool.

The villa is situated in one of the most renowned areas of Tuscany, famous for its excellent wineries and restaurants. It is located in the exact center of the region, just 4 kilometers from all types of services and shops. Despite not being isolated, the house guarantees total privacy and tranquility in all its external and internal spaces. In fact, there are only a few small country houses nearby (on the opposite side of the road, which is not busy) and a church where you can attend mass on Sundays. The church bell never rings at night, only a few times during the day, breaking the total silence that you will enjoy in the garden!

The view from the property is amazing wherever you are! The medieval village of San Gimignano is located on a hill right in front of you. The valley that opens up below the villa is covered with vineyards, olive groves, and cypress trees! The sunset seen from here is something impressive! The photos you take from the villa will be the most beautiful and unforgettable postcards of your vacation in Tuscany!

The garden of the property is developed on 2 levels: entering the property from the automatic gate, you will immediately find the parking lot on your left, suitable for a maximum of 4 cars. In front of the house (same level) a very large veranda, equipped with outdoor sofas. Also, a gazebo with a marble table for 14 people.

The swimming pool is located in the “lower” area of the garden which is accessed by a wide tuff staircase (not steep and easy to walk, there are only a few steps). The upper part of the land, where the house is located, and the pool area are “divided” by a fence with a net and a small gate located at the beginning of the staircase that you can close or open at your discretion at any time. This is to ensure maximum safety for children, in accordance with local regulations. In the pool area, sun loungers and umbrellas are available for all guests. From next year 2024 (perhaps already this summer) there will also be three small gazebos on the lawn opposite the pool. The pool is 12 x 5 meters and works with the most modern water sanitization techniques.

Interior Description
Ground Floor
A very large and bright living room, accessible from the large veranda of the villa. Here you will find a comfortable sofa and two armchairs, a large table ideal for 14 guests, and a modern and fully equipped "open" kitchen! Another smaller living area, adjacent to the main living room, furnished with sofas and a large 55" super HD TV. A complete "common" bathroom (accessible from the small TV lounge). A large double bedroom with an en suite bathroom. In this room with a king-size bed and wardrobe, it is also possible to prepare a double sofa bed for any two children in case you are more than 12 people (there are 6 rooms in the villa, and we cannot accept more than 12 adults and 2 children in total).
A small laundry area at your disposal with a washing machine, dryer, iron, and cleaning products.

All the rooms on the ground floor have direct access to the veranda or garden of the villa through a French door.

First Floor
The first floor of the villa is divided into two areas, offering a total of 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Three of these rooms are accessible by a staircase from the larger living room (one of which also has a private terrace). The other two bedrooms can be reached by an additional staircase from the smaller living room (the TV area).

All 6 bedrooms of the villa are equipped with air conditioning, mosquito nets, wardrobes, blackout curtains on the large "French" windows, with protective railings for children. Each room has a private bathroom inside, complete with a shower, sink, bidet, and toilet.

Regarding the beds, there are 3 king-size beds, 2 queen-size beds, and a normal double bed (+ the additional double sofa bed in the bedroom on the ground floor). All mattresses are completely new and comfortable! We also provide two different types of pillows for each guest! Knowing this in advance, we are able to prepare a maximum of two of the 6 bedrooms as doubles (i.e., with two single beds instead of a double).

Thanks to a particular renovation project, all the rooms of the villa enjoy a breathtaking view of the valley towards the medieval village of San Gimignano, which at night gives the garden a unique atmosphere!
