Umbria is one of the smallest regions in Italy located just east
of Tuscany. It is often referred to as the green heart of Italy.
With its rolling hills, fields of olive groves, ancient buildings,
and stunning landscape once could mistake this region for its
neighbour Tuscany quite easily.
There are not too many cities in ancient Umbria which is refreshing
and part of its charm. Umbria has retained many of Italy’s
old world traditions and it has built up a name for itself as one
of the countries slow food regions. It is common to spend 3 hours
over one meal whilst in Umbria.
When visiting Umbria one should enjoy exploring cities such as
Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto and Orvieto.
Perugia is a very lively city with its famous university for
foreigners. It has a thriving art scene and several cultural events
and music concerts.
