Toscana - Tuscany
Tuscany is the place we all dream of….The place we want to retire to, and it is that place that will echo in your heart for a life time once you have stayed there and felt the essence of the organic life that passes by there each day.
With fields of sunflowers as far as they eye can see, olive groves and vineyards lining every street corner make Tuscany’s country side a picture worth painting. With its abundance of tiny medieval towns scattered around the hills, open air markets where locals gather each Saturday morning to offer their produce such as Truffle oil, olives, chianti wine, cured meats etc makes Tuscany the perfect place to visit for those that love food, wine and history.

Etna. As the highest active volcano in Europe and Sicily's tallest mountain. Mt. Etna is a true natural wonder: don't miss the chance to explore it by booking a guided excursion with our concierge. Taormina, one of the most famous towns in Sicily, is located high atop Mount Tauro. The magnificent Mediterranean blue bay and the nearby smoldering Mt. Etna merge into a spectacular view that can be seen from almost any point in the city. A renowned archaeological destination backed by incredible history, Taormina is home to one of the most famous Greek Theaters in the world. This remarkable theater hosts "Taormina Arte," the town's annual summer international arts festival of film, music, dance and theatre. Taormina is a haven for tourists, offering a great number of restaurants, bars, clubs, entertainment and sport venues. Take a stroll along the Corso and be sure to stop at one of the local cafés for a taste of granite (the original version of Italian ice!) and a piece of frutta martorana (marzipan sweets). The distinctive beauty of Syracuse, rich with history and artistic presence, was featured in Giuseppe Tornatore's movie "Malena", starring Monica Bellucci. Since 1914, from early May to the end of June, the city has staged ancient comedies and tragedies in its Greek theatre. A stroll through the streets of Ortigia leads to the fascinating baroque cathedral that incorporates an ancient temple to Athena. Make sure you check the Fountain of Arethusa, site of the Greek legend. Noto is the undisputed capital of Sicilian Baroque. Generally listed as one of the 'must-see' tourist attractions on the East coast of Sicily. The town was declared humanity heritage by UNESCO in 2002. Here you can enjoy the most beautiful non equipped beaches of the island, Eloro, Cittadella or Calamosche inside the natural reserve of Vendicari, which is also home to thousands of migrating flamingos and sea turtle nests. If you prefer the comfort of equipped beaches, check the ones in Noto Marina or San Lorenzo. If you are in this area on the third week of May, take note of the famous and suggestive "Infiorata", a picturesque festival to welcome the spring, where local artists work overnight to prepare colorful real flower carpets all over the streets. Other sites worth visiting in the surroundings of Noto (by car) include Noto Antica - the older town - Modica, Palazzo Acreide, Ragusa - a similarly-appealing Baroque town - the necropolis at Pantalica and Ispica Caves. Florence, a medieval city of timeless artistic beauty is there to be discovered. The beautiful Cathedral of Santa Maria Del Fiore, the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, the Pitti Palace, and Ponte Vecchio are only few of the city’s most famous architectural masterpieces. Check at least one of its museums – we like the Academy of Fine Arts, which houses Michelangelo’s superb David. Stroll the narrow streets of Florence, the cradle of the Reinassance, and marvel at the richness of this real open museum. Enjoy a cappuccino on one of its piazzas, or a colorful gelato to cool off the summer heat. Whatever you do, don’t pinch yourself…you are not dreaming!

A winding scenic drive along the coastal road, known for its hairpin bends and spectacular views, takes visitors to Positano, Praiano, Amalfi and the spellbinding uphill town of Ravello, with its incomparable belvedere. Any of these popular resort towns along the coast are good bases for exploring the surrounding areas. Buses and ferries run frequently and are the most convenient way to reach other towns while avoiding what could be a challenging drive in the bustling summer traffic. Other excursion possibilities include a boat trip to the islands of Capri and Ischia, a visit to the vibrant cities of Napoli, Salerno, or the gracious Sorrento, or an exploration of Pompeii and Herculaneum - the fascinating ruins of ancient cities destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in the 1st century A.D.
The Amalfi Coast offers an abundance of cafes, shops, art galleries and restaurants on its vertical terrain. Most beaches are small pebble inlets of land thus the best way to enjoy the sand and the turquoise water is to tour the area by boat (ask our concierge about it!) and let an expert local captain take you to his favorite spots or suggest the best seaside restaurants. A memorable experience!
