The allure of Asolo has captivated numerous intellectuals and artists, including luminaries such as Robert Browning, Eugene Benson, Igor Stravinsky, and Ernest Hemingway. Among them, three remarkable and intellectually vibrant women made their home here: Caterina Cornaro, the former Queen of Cyprus, who sought refuge in Asolo in 1489 and established a magnificent Renaissance court of artists, writers, and poets; Eleonora Duse (1858-1924), celebrated as a star of the international theater scene; and Freya Stark, renowned explorer, author, and photographer.
CULINARY TRADITION/ WINES/ CRAFT
Indulge in the unforgettable dishes of Asolo’s culinary tradition, such as “sarde in saor,” Treviso or Castelfranco radicchio, pasta and beans, pumpkin, and white asparagus from Bassano. Asolo is part of the national circuit of Wine Cities, celebrating its first-class wines with special wine tastings in August. Discover Asolan handicrafts, including handwoven fabrics, embroidery, hand-painted ceramics, and antique furniture, in the heart of the town.

Famous for the Leaning Tower, Pisa is a must-see once in a life destination for the visitors of Italy. However, while exploring the Miracle Square is something that cannot be missed, the unique and picturesque villages set in the surrounding areas of Pisa are worth a visit.
The most famous area to explore is the hills of Volterra, a medieval city embraced by rolling hills where you can admire Etruscan and Roman sites and learn the alabaster art from local craftsmen. Going just a bit further reach San Gimignano and do not forget to pick up some wine on the way to enjoy at the villa.
