After eight years of careful restoration work, the ancient and historic family home, Villa La Collina, is in a new phase of elegance and importance. Perched on a high ridge overlooking the beautiful valleys on the Romagna-Toscana border, an area of spectacular beauty, and close to cities of historic interest, it is an ideal, private and elegant venue for your Italian holidays!
Main features
Italian Style Gardens
Chapel (available for wedding ceremonies)
Panoramic swimming pool (7×10), pool furniture and pergola with table for lunch by the pool. Gated pool area.
Pool house with summer kitchen, one bathroom, shower room and changing area.
Attractions
In the valley to the north is the tiny Tuscan village of Lutirano, on the other side 3 km down the hill in Romagna there is Tredozio, one kilometer from end to end. In Tredozio you can find butchers, bakers, general stores, bars and banks. A local family owns Henry’s, the pizzeria. The new Locanda Guelfo serves Sunday brunch and other meals by appointment.
By special request, Chef Gentilini, retired owner of the Restaurant Il Mulino di San Michele, will cook a typical 19th century dinner for you to be served at Villa La Collina.
In summer evenings, in the ancient courtyard of the Palazzo Fantini, in Tredozio, there are concerts ranging from jazz to chamber music organized by the province’s cultural department. There are public tennis courts in Tredozio, golf courses at Forlì, Riolo Terme and Milano Marittima on the Adriatic, and trails for mountain biking, horse-riding and trekking. A pleasant walk through the woods from La Collina leads to the Urrai family farm, where flocks of sheep and goats supply milk to make cheeses in the traditional Sardinian way. This is not the Chiantishire of souvenir shops and Leaning Tower T-shirts; this is the real, rural and peaceful Italy.
Ravenna and the Adriatic coast are 45 minutes away: Florence and the other historical Tuscan cities are within easy reach; the beautiful, bustling city of Bologna, often overlooked on the tourist trail, is just over an hour away. As a break from driving, we advise use of the excellent train services from Faenza. Alitalia, British Airways, EasyJet and Ryanair fly to Bologna.

Review 2025
“A great experience if you’re happy to be surrounded by family memories. The villa offers a true Tuscan experience — beautiful setting, authentic style, and plenty of space to relax. We travelled as a group and had a private chef, which was absolutely fabulous! Long, leisurely meals, local wines, and the joy of being together in such a special place made this an unforgettable trip. Highly recommended for family groups or friends wanting to experience the real Tuscany.”

SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS
Isolaria is an exclusive private island retreat, crafted for guests seeking unparalleled privacy, luxury, and unforgettable experiences. Nestled between the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento, and the Gulf of Salerno, it provides effortless access to the region’s most iconic destinations while remaining a serene sanctuary. Every detail is thoughtfully designed to blend natural beauty, comfort, and sophistication, making Isolaria a once-in-a-lifetime destination for those who cherish privacy, style, and the ultimate coastal lifestyle.
A winding scenic drive along the coastal road, known for its hairpin bends and spectacular views, takes visitors to Positano, Praiano, Amalfi and the spellbinding uphill town of Ravello, with its incomparable belvedere. Any of these popular resort towns along the coast are good bases for exploring the surrounding areas. Buses and ferries run frequently and are the most convenient way to reach other towns while avoiding what could be a challenging drive in the bustling summer traffic. Other excursion possibilities include a boat trip to the islands of Capri and Ischia, a visit to the vibrant cities of Napoli, Salerno, or the gracious Sorrento, or an exploration of Pompeii and Herculaneum - the fascinating ruins of ancient cities destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in the 1st century A.D.
The Amalfi Coast offers an abundance of cafes, shops, art galleries and restaurants on its vertical terrain. Most beaches are small pebble inlets of land thus the best way to enjoy the sand and the turquoise water is to tour the area by boat (ask our concierge about it!) and let an expert local captain take you to his favorite spots or suggest the best seaside restaurants. A memorable experience!

Florence, a medieval city of timeless artistic beauty is there to be discovered. The beautiful Cathedral of Santa Maria Del Fiore, the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, the Pitti Palace, and Ponte Vecchio are only few of the city’s most famous architectural masterpieces. Check at least one of its museums – we like the Academy of Fine Arts, which houses Michelangelo’s superb David. Stroll the narrow streets of Florence, the cradle of the Reinassance, and marvel at the richness of this real open museum. Enjoy a cappuccino on one of its piazzas, or a colorful gelato to cool off the summer heat. Whatever you do, don’t pinch yourself…you are not dreaming!
