Casa Vitti – A Lakeside Retreat in the Heart of Tremezzina

Set directly on the shores of Lake Como, Casa Vitti is nestled in the peaceful hamlet of Portezza, a charming and historic part of Tremezzo that was once a traditional fishing village. A short stroll through its cobbled lanes leads you to the small Romanesque church of San Vincenzo, a quiet symbol of the area’s rich heritage.

Surrounded by a private lakeside garden, Casa Vitti offers direct access to the water, with a private dock for motorboats and seaplanes. Beneath the shade of mature trees, guests can dine al fresco or unwind with a view of the lake — a perfect setting for long, relaxing days outdoors.

Casa Vitti is ideally positioned for those who wish to explore Lake Como without a car. The house is reached by a charming 50-meter pedestrian path through the village of Portezza. From there, it’s just a short walk to local shops, restaurants, and the public ferry pier, offering direct connections to Bellagio and other renowned lakeside towns such as Varenna, Menaggio, and Cadenabbia.

A private parking space is available nearby for one small car (we recommend compact models), and additional public parking is also close at hand. A children’s playground is located just 100 meters from the property, and all essential services can be found within 600 meters.

The nearby village of Lenno, overlooking the tranquil Gulf of Venus, offers a wide range of cafés, eateries, and cultural landmarks, including Villa del Balbianello (2.7 km) and Villa Carlotta (2.6 km). Lenno is also a key point along the scenic Greenway, a gentle walking route that stretches for about three hours between Colonno and Cadenabbia, following the ancient path of the Strada Regina.

For nature and culture lovers, a panoramic trail from Lenno leads to the UNESCO-listed Sacro Monte di Ossuccio, one of nine sacred pre-Alpine mountains. The path winds through the Zoca de l’Oli (“oil basin”), an area famous for its olive groves, thanks to its mild microclimate and centuries-old oil production tradition

The house is spread over three floors, all connected by an internal elevator. The layout is as follows:

The ground floor includes a fully equipped kitchen (with refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher), a dining area with a table for eight, and a cozy living room furnished with four armchairs and a vintage-style sofa.

The first and second floors each feature two twin bedrooms (which can be arranged as doubles), along with two private bathrooms with showers per floor. Every bedroom offers views of the lake or garden and includes air conditioning, heating, and soundproofed interiors with wooden floors and exposed beam ceilings. Period furnishings and antique artworks lend each space a warm, elegant atmosphere.

Lombardia and The Lakes

Lombardia is located at the very north of Italy and borders with Switzerland and the Alps. Home to the industrial capital city of Milan which is perhaps the biggest centre in the world for fashion with names like Armani, Prada, and Gucci all residing in Milans ‘Golden Quad’.  The local people of Milan take great pride in the way they dress and it can often seem they are all on a catwalk as they quickly march through the streets.

Milan is also the finance powerhouse of the country, and is not driven by tourism. The city itself is fast passed, and a great place to visit if you are a serious shopper.

The main attractions in Milan include Il Duomo di Milano, Leonardo Da Vincis last supper, La Scala opera house, and the Castello Sforzesco.
