The area of the Maremma is located in southern Tuscany and includes the city of Grosseto.
Maremma offers an extraordinary natural environment,  clear beaches, large pine forests, and a precious natural patrimony. The territory has various protected natural areas, the most important being the Natural Park of the Maremma, which extends from Principina to Talamone. The Park covers a large variety of native environments, from cultivated fields and grazing areas, to the Mediterranean bushes, pine woods, rocky areas and wetlands.

Both Grossetto, and the well-known coastal village of Scansano, are the sights of exhibitions, displays, and food festivals, in addition to excellent restaurants. Maremmas surroundings are charming and beautiful, with green hills filled with pastures, vineyards and olive groves, which are highly recognised for the success of Morellino, the area’s red wine granted DOCG status in 2007 ( the highest level of appellation in the Italian system, reserved for products made with the most outstanding standards). Wine cellars and shops located around Scansano and Grosseto are always open for tasting the local wines and other typical local products.

Italian Villa Vacations has some facinating villas/Estates for rent in this region. Please see "The Verdemare Estate" and "Casa Fiorella" under "Country properties" for details.
