This seven-night vacation is for those looking for something off the beaten track then you will love our Village Life and Beyond tour. You will stay in an apartment in the centre of historic Ficulle, a typical medieval hilltop town where locals still live at a leisurely pace and tourists are rarely seen. Each day you will be adventure filled with every detail taken care off by us. It really is living the dream in the green heart of Italy.
With private transport and expert guides we will take you to stunning locations, extending into Tuscany, where your guide will enthral you with stories about the extraordinary history, art and culture of the region. With your minds full of beauty and stories you will then dine at restaurants famous for their dedication to local dishes and savour delectable wines from local vineyards.
Your accommodation will be in a sympathetically restored apartment built into the ancient stone walls of Ficulle. To the west you gaze out over rolling hills, deeply coloured fields and hilltop towns while village life takes place just a few steps away from your front door.
Every day will make you smile, wonder, and embrace la dolce vita.

Duration – seven nights
Group Size – Min 4, max 8 plus one guide and one host. The group will occupy two apartments, each with two master bedrooms and ensuites.

Village Life and Beyond

3rd - 10th of October 2026

Saturday You will be collected from Rome and driven (90 mins) to the village of Ficulle where you will enjoy a late lunch at a family-owned trattoria offering the best and freshest of local food. Your apartment is just a few minutes up the hill so you can spend the remainder of the day exploring Ficulle before gathering for aperitivo, drinks and dinner at your new home.

SUNDAY
A day trip to Orvieto, the jewel of Umbria. You will visit an extraordinary archaeological site situated inside the town walls and closed to the general public, lunch in a stunning restaurant located in an atmospheric grotto and then enjoy a guided tour of the remarkable cathedral. We can guarantee this is a day you will never forget!
Dinner at a local restaurant close to home.

MONDAY
A day in Siena with free time to explore this exquisite Renaissance city. You will be taken on a guided tour of the incomparable Duomo with lunch in a delightful restaurant in Piazza Del Campo.
Prepared by a local chef, dinner will be served at home.

TUESDAY
A visit to the famous town of Montepulciano with a wine tasting and lunch in a restaurant located in the main square with incredible district views. The drive home takes us through extraordinary countryside and includes a stop at Montalcino, a winery famous for playing music to the grapes.
Dinner – home delivered pizza.

WEDNESDAY
A visit to Cortona (home of Under the Tuscan Sun) with a tasting lunch at a Michelin starred restaurant set deep in picturesque countryside. It’s not usually open for lunch but we know the owners!
Dinner will be a light cheese board dinner at home.

THURSDAY
A rest day so you can sleep in, explore the village, walk in the countryside and perhaps grab a picnic lunch. Later in the day we will take you to a superb local vineyard and restaurant for a sunset dinner

FRIDAY
A visit to Bolsena, a stunning town set on the majestic Lake Bolsena. You will see the sacred location where the miracle of the Eucharist occurred and visit truly remarkable Christian catacombs. Lunch will be at arguably Italy’s finest seafood restaurant located on stilts over the Lake.

SATURDAY
A leisurely breakfast and then transport back to Rome.

Casa Piazza and Casa Corso are 2 immaculate, fully restored apartments in the heart of Ficulle. Both located on the main street. Ficulle is a delightful village dotted amongst the Umbrian countryside, 20 minutes from Orvieto and 1.5 hours north of Rome.
