Set in the south-east of Tuscany and framed by four magnificent valleys (Val Tiberina, Casentino, Valdarno and Valdichiana), Arezzo is a true gem of the Tuscan countryside and an easy one to explore on foot. An extraordinary city of art, renowned for goldsmiths and antiques traders, Arezzo is home to valuable monuments, cathedrals and museums, all within its historic center.
This corner of Tuscany has been of great inspiration to artists of all trades, from Piero della Francesca, who frescoed the Basilica of San Francesco in Arezzo, to Giorgio Vasari, from the poet Petrarch to Leonardo da Vinci, who supposedly painted a sight of the medieval Buriano Brige over the Arno river in the background of his famous Mona Lisa. More recently, scenes for the Academy-awarded movie “La Vita è bella” (Life is beautiful, 1997) by Roberto Benigni were filmed in this area. Among the many small towns worth a mention, Poppi, one of the best-preserved examples of “walled city”, Castiglion Fibocchi with its unique baroque carnival event, the Etruscan archeological site of Castiglion Fiorentino and the beautiful Renaissance architecture of Cortona. Take it slow and enjoy.

Toscana - Tuscany
Tuscany is the place we all dream of….The place we want to retire to, and it is that place that will echo in your heart for a life time once you have stayed there and felt the essence of the organic life that passes by there each day.
With fields of sunflowers as far as they eye can see, olive groves and vineyards lining every street corner make Tuscany’s country side a picture worth painting. With its abundance of tiny medieval towns scattered around the hills, open air markets where locals gather each Saturday morning to offer their produce such as Truffle oil, olives, chianti wine, cured meats etc makes Tuscany the perfect place to visit for those that love food, wine and history.
