On the water yet only a 5-minute lakeside stroll from Como’s central piazza, Villa Gallietta is one of Lake Como’s most unique and historic Luxury Villas.
A 3-year renovation, finished in 2009, has restored the full artful splendor of 1772 while adding modern conveniences such as swimming pool, air conditioning, elevator, full gym, yoga studio, Hi-Speed Internet, and more. Staff on property in a separate residence.

One of the famous “Seven Sisters of Como”, La Gallietta is filled with frescoes (such as the one displayed below by Andrea Appiani, Italy’s most famous neo-classical artist) and is the subject of a novel written in 1856 by French author Nathalie Comtesse.

Lombardia and The Lakes

Lombardia is located at the very north of Italy and borders with Switzerland and the Alps. Home to the industrial capital city of Milan which is perhaps the biggest centre in the world for fashion with names like Armani, Prada, and Gucci all residing in Milans ‘Golden Quad’.  The local people of Milan take great pride in the way they dress and it can often seem they are all on a catwalk as they quickly march through the streets.

Milan is also the finance powerhouse of the country, and is not driven by tourism. The city itself is fast passed, and a great place to visit if you are a serious shopper.

The main attractions in Milan include Il Duomo di Milano, Leonardo Da Vincis last supper, La Scala opera house, and the Castello Sforzesco.
