Casa Madulain is a nicely furnished apartment located on the third floor (no elevator) of a former barn. This antique house is right in the centre of Madulain, a small and quiet village of few well kept houses.
Casa Madulain sleeps up to 7 in 4 bedrooms and 2 and ½ bathrooms. It is the perfect place for those who want to spend a great holiday in one of the most famous and magnificent places in Switzerland, the Engadina valley. During winter the whole valley is covered by meters and meters of white snow. One can enjoy skiing on the renowned mountains of Diavolezza and Corvatsch. In summer the mountains become all green with fields full of flowers and one can enjoy playing a variety of sports such as golf, horse riding, hiking, tennis and many more. One of the most impressive characteristics of this valley is the three blue lakes which are wonderful for water sports. The chic and nice town of Saint Moritz is just 11 kms away which is famous for shopping and great night! Casa Madulain can be rented together with Casa Fracobele located on the second floor of the same building.

THE AREA
The little village of Madulain is located at only 11 km from the famous Saint Moritz, in the heart of the Engadina valley. It is a very quiet and well kept village of few houses and a little church. In Madulain there is a mini market where it is possible to buy fresh milk, bread etc, and a restaurant and (very important) a small tourist office and a bus stop. A few meters from the house there is also a playground with games for kids and a basket ball ground. All this is within walking distance from the house.
From Madulain other little towns in the valley are all very easily accessible.  Le Punt – Chamues km 1; Samaden 7 km; Celerina 9 km; Saint Moritz 11 km & Zuoz, 6 km.
In these larger villages there are Post offices, Hospitals, pharmacies, supermarkets, elegant shops, restaurants and bars.

DESCRIPTION
Casa Madulain is located on the third floor of ancient building right in the centre of the village. In the past this building was a barn. Now the house is an elegant condo with 5 apartments, three of which belong to the owner of Casa Madulain. The entrance on the ground floor is shared.
Casa Madulain measures about 170 sq m. It is on the third floor (40 steps) of the building and it does not have the elevator. A garage is available for guests (only one car); there are also parking lots for 3 extra cars just in front of the building, these are shared with the owner when he is there and with the guest of Casa Madulain.
The house is elegantly refined in boiserie conforming to the typical style of this region.
A wooden staircase leads from the second floor of the building to Casa Madulain which consists of a bright living room with beautiful red sofas, large windows overlooking the mountains and a working fire place. In the same loft there is also a dining table for 8 and a spacious fully equipped kitchen area (fridge, freezer, oven, electric range, dishwasher, sink, microwave, American coffee machine; the kitchen is provided with any sort of facilities).
The apartment features a cosy master bedroom with double bed, a lovely window framing the mountains (TV) and a marble en suite bathroom with Jacuzzi, separate shower and double sink. From this bedroom a wooden stair case leads to the studio on the second level of the apartment.
On the first there is also:
One Blue twin (double) bedroom with spacious closet and a desk with view over the mountains.
A Red twin bedroom. This is a room perfect for children! Also this room has a closet and a little desk in front of the window.
These two bedrooms share a bathroom with shower. On this floor there is also a guest bathroom with sink and WC.
From the living room a spiral stair case, made of grey stone, leads to the second level of the apartment where one finds the TV room (VCR, SAT TV) a cosy studio ( phone, bookcase, stereo, cd player, fax and printer) and a single bedroom (TV) for one extra guest. On this floor there is also the washing machine and a dryer.

Activities
Casa Madulain is a perfect family house for those who want to enjoy a great holiday in the mountains. In winter it is possible to go skiing on the ski resorts of Diavolezza, Corvatsch, Forcella…etc. A car is needed to reach the main ski resorts.
Also from the house is very easy to reach the ski slopes of langlauf on the iced lakes.
During the summer it is possible to practice many different kinds of sports.
Near the house - 4 km - there is an 18 holes golf club. There is also another golf club in Samaden and another one in Saint Moritz.
It is also possible to do bike tours, hiking, horse riding, climbing, water sports on the three blue lakes (sailing or wind surf, fishing, kayak). SPA in Scuol. A public swimming pool is available in Zernez at 20 km. Tennis is available in Zuoz at 5 km.
Night life in Saint Moritz
Saint Moritz is one of the most popular and elegant sky resorts in Europe. Several VIP such as Armani, Etro and others own beautiful houses in Le Pont – Chamues, Celerina and Saint Moritz. For those who loves going out at night time we have to remember that Saint Moritz offers many elegant restaurants, bars, shops and clubs.
